Stonehouse Meadery
PROJECT DESCRIPTION⌗
The Stonehouse Brewing project started out as a concept from Lucas with a friend in high school: a brewery and coffee house. In the morning, the brewery would function as a coffee house, serving breakfast foods and wonderful brews. In the evening, the brewery would serve dinner alond with high-end beers, wines, and more. Seeing as they were students in high school that could not drink alcohol and had no concept of brewing, this project was put on hold until further notice.
In 2020, following some global interruptions, Lucas had time to learn how to brew. Specifically, he was interested in brewing mead. Following some sucessful attempts, he expanded production in 2021 with the help of Skylar in order to accomodate larger batches of mead and more experimentation. The pair are currently developing their standard line of mead, including:
- Wodensblut (alternatively: The Blood of the Allfather)
- Brewed with black rasperries and lemon peel
- About 19% ABV
- Named for its red hue
- Adam
- Simple, straight honey wine
- 8% ABV
- Panama Yellow
- Brewed with gauva, pineapple, and orange
- 8% ABV
- Named for its yellow hue
- Mead of Suttingr
- Brewed with juniper berries, grapefruit, star anise, and other herbals
- 12% ABV
- Named after the mythical Nordic beverage that bestows the drinker the ability to recite any information and solve any question.
- Valhalla Brew
- Brewed with experimental substances
- Made with the intentions of seeing Odin
- Not intended for human consumption (yet)
PROJECT GOALS⌗
The goals of this project are to develop a process for brewing select beverages, seeding the creation of a meadery. Inspirations have come strongly from Nordic and Germanic mythology, so a goal of Stonehouse brewing would be to communicate those ideas through the drinks.
